If you’ve worked with a Mamava Service representative and they’ve determined you need to replace your lock, these step-by-step instructions will walk you through replacing the lock on a Mamava Flex or Solo V2 pod.
Tools needed
- Painter’s tape
- #2 Phillips head screwdriver
- Current version of the Mamava App
Estimated time to complete
- 10-15 minutes
Step 1: Remove the old lock
- Apply painter’s tape to the outside of the lockset.
- Remove the battery cover on the inner part of the lock by loosening the screws at the top with a Phillips head screwdriver.
- Using a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the three screws holding the inner handle onto the mounting plate as shown below:
- Remove the batteries and the entire back panel with the handle so that you can see the inside of the front panel. Then use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the three screws (see below) holding the panel onto the door:
- Gently pull the back panel off to reveal the wire harness and disconnect the wire connectors. If the connector is not easy to reach, pull some of the wire out of the door. This will make reinstallation easier.
- Carefully remove the outer handle.
Step 2: Install the new lock on the pod
VERY IMPORTANT: Make sure the spindle that goes through the door has the “L” on top.
- The “L” must be completely on top, not slightly to the left or right, in order for this lock to work properly. Please see the images below.
- Install the new outer handle onto the door, reattaching the painter’s tape to hold the handle on.
- Make sure the wire/cable goes over the latch as seen in this photo:
- Reconnect the wires.
- Check that the outer handle is aligned vertically, then tighten the three screws to secure the mounting plate to the door.
- Reinstall the three Phillips head screws to attach the inner handle onto the door. Reinstall batteries.
- Reinstall the battery cover. Then remove the Painter’s tape from the outer lock.
