If the deadbolt is locked from the inside—and you need to get in immediately—there are a few options to try. If neither of the first two options work, we recommend disassembling the pod.
First option: Use your keys
- Insert the emergency deadbolt key into the center hole of the occupancy indicator dial and turn to “vacant.” The deadbolt is now open.
- Use the traditional brass key that came with the lock.
Second option: Use a yardstick to try to disengage the deadbolt.
- Climb on a ladder to remove the roof panel(s) to gain access to the interior.
- Use a yardstick (or something similar) to try to disengage the deadbolt.
Third option: Remove panels
For XL or Original pods: Remove either the center perforated roof panel or the curved side panels to gain access to the interior of the pod. To remove panels, please refer to the Disassembly Guide for instructions.
Original: Disassembly Guide - Original V5 or Disassembly Guide - Original V4
XL: Disassembly Guide - XL V6, Disassembly Guide - XL V5, or Disassembly Guide - XL V4
For Solo V2.0 , V2.1, or V2.2 pods: Remove the door panel. First remove the roof panel. Using a ladder, disconnect the two wire harnesses located at the top right and top left of the door. Then unscrew the six bolts on the front door panel.
For Solo V1.0 or V1.1 pods: Being to disassemble the pod, until you can access the deadbolt.
